Brewhouse & Kitchen acquires Hoxton restaurant
Microbrewery and pub operator, Brewhouse & Kitchen has acquired The Beagle in Hoxton, East London through specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, marking Brewhouse & Kitchen’s 21st site.
The modern restaurant, café and bar is ideally situated in the trendy neighbourhood, adjacent to the newly developed East London Overground Station and surrounded by residential and commercial developments, which continue to attract high footfall to the area. The site was created from a shell condition six years ago in 2012 and completed with a modern fit out.
The venue, which has won awards for its interior design, is spread across three areas designated by imposing brick archways, which makes for a stunning setting with incredible versatility. In addition to its capacity for an all-day trade offering, the business hosts private dining and events, with little impact on daily trade.
Brewhouse & Kitchen plan to slightly refurbish the property, also setting up a microbrewery within the site.
Kris Gumbrell of Brewhouse & Kitchen comments, “This iconic location, set in the railway arches next to the Hoxton Overground, is a unique opportunity and a great fit with our brewpubs at Highbury and Angel. It is expected to be open and brewing in mid-July, and we’re looking forward to welcoming local businesses and punters to what will be a stunning site in an equally special location.”
Stewart Harkness, Associate Director – Pubs & Restaurants at Christie & Co comments, “We are pleased to announce the sale of The Beagle restaurant to the team at Brewhouse & Kitchen. As soon as I visited the site, I believed it would be a perfect fit not only for Brewhouse & Kitchen, but also the already great following The Beagle operators have established. Brewhouse & Kitchen’s offering, with its selection of real ales brewed in house and their great food offering, which now also includes vegan choices will be a great pull for the locals. I wish Kris and Simon all the best in their 21st site.”
