Care home in East Yorkshire sold through Christie & Co
The Old Vicarage Care Home in Airmyn, on the outskirts of Goole in East Yorkshire, has been sold through specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co on behalf of Rufus Healthcare Ltd.
Registered for 22 residents, The Old Vicarage is a long-established care home which holds a CQC ‘Good’ rating and provides accommodation and personal care services. Dating from the 1800s, the property has been converted for use as a care home and a purpose built extension was added in 1983. The spacious home comprises two lounges, two dining rooms and 18 en suite bedrooms arranged over the ground and first floor levels, accessible via a lift.
Situated in a prominent position in the centre of the village of Airmyn, The Old Vicarage is easily accessible from the M62 motorway and provides a scenic setting for residents, overlooking the River Aire. The site also features well maintained gardens to the front, side and rear of the property.
The home was previously owned and operated by Rufus Healthcare Limited. Mitch Todd, Managing Director of Rufus Healthcare comments, “I would like to personally thank Jonathan Wickens who has helped ensure the transition to new ownership went as smoothly as possible. I am sure The Old Vicarage, under the new ownership, will continue to offer unrivalled standards of care in an enviable setting.”
New owner, Atchen Nathan, Director of Airmyn Residential, a care home operator, comments, “We are thrilled to be taking ownership of the Old Vicarage at Airmyn, a long-established home with a good reputation, friendly environment and excellent staff. We will be investing and modernising various aspects of the home that will enrich the lives of our valued residents.”
Jonathan Wickens, Director at Christie & Co who handled the sale comments, “It was a pleasure working with both Rufus Healthcare and Airmyn Residential and we are sure the home’s good name and reputation will continue under the new ownership. Care homes which are well run and well maintained continue to be attractive to a range of buyers and finding the right buyer to ensure the smooth continuation of operations is key for many business owners looking to sell so we are delighted to have helped Rufus Healthcare in this process.”
The Old Vicarage was sold off an asking price of £750,000 for the freehold interest.
