Christie & Co named ‘most active’ agent in Yorkshire
Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co’s Yorkshire & Humberside team has been named the most active agents in the Leisure and Hotels category of the ‘2019 Estates Gazette’s EGi Deals Competition’, a success that was also replicated across the North East, Scotland, and the South West. Christie & Co was also named as one of the top-ranking agents in the same category nationally.
David Lee, Regional Director for Christie & Co North East and Yorkshire comments, “We’re delighted to win the most active agent award for the Leisure and Hotels category. 2019 was a good year despite some challenges including the uncertainty around Brexit and the impact of new supply with many markets leading to RevPAR declines.
“Our dedicated team of hospitality specialists are highly experienced in the regional market and are seeing strong demand for leisure and hotel properties, particularly in Yorkshire. Some of the key transactions in 2019 included the sale of The Belmont in Harrogate, The Hazelwood Guest House in York, which was sold to Mersten Group to transform into eight supported living apartments, and The Durker Roods Hotel in Leeds, the former home of Aston Martin supremo Sir David Brown. 2020 has got off to a strong start with high levels of inspections and viewings. We are looking forward to a busy year ahead.”
