Christie & Co sell Ty Porth Care Home to Hallmark

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co has sold Ty Porth, a former Embrace Group care home in Rhondda Cynon Taf to Hallmark.

The 80 bed care home becomes the 17th member to join the Hallmark family of homes and will represent a proud addition to the industry-leading care organisation that currently provides residential, dementia and nursing care to over 1000 people across England and South Wales.

Hallmark Care Homes, Managing Director, Avnish Goyal said: “Ty Porth Care Home is an excellent care home that shares Hallmark Care Homes’ values and commitment to delivering high-quality relationship-centred care.  We are delighted that Ty Porth has joined the Hallmark family of homes and we look forward to getting to know the residents, team members, friends and relatives in the coming weeks.”

Martin Gould, Head of Brokerage for Care at Christie & Co said: “Ty Porth was marketed via a confidential campaign and received significant interest from a variety of operators. We’re delighted Hallmark Care Homes has acquired the business, further expanding their presence in Wales where they have been operating for 20 years. The sale reflects the demand in Wales for care homes with strong occupancy levels that serve the local community well. We wish Hallmark all the best with their new acquisition.”

Rob Kinsman, Regional Director of the South Wales and South West Division of Christie & Co adds, “Despite the imminent regulatory changes coming into force in April 2018, demand for care homes in South Wales remains very strong with average occupancy levels are higher than the UK average. New-build activity remains subdued which means the supply of additional bed spaces is limited.

“Despite the care sector facing challenges we expect the market to remain robust in 2018.”
