Christie & Co to attend IHIF 2019 with Chris Day
Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co is set to attend the 22nd annual International Hotel Investment Forum 2019 (IHIF) in Berlin on 4-6 March, which brings together over 2,300 key figures from 80 countries, across the global hospitality market.
With the unparalleled opportunities to connect with others in the industry that IHIF presents, it is apt that this year’s theme for the conference is ‘Partnering for Peak Performance’. Collaboration is a key catalyst for growth, development and delivering a better offering, and with cross service and cross country partnerships at our fingertips in an ever globalising world, it is encouraging to see this being championed.
Looking forward to networking with new and familiar faces, Christie & Co will be exhibiting at stand 59 over the three days of the event, where members of our UK and international Hotels team will be available. Global Managing Director, Chris Day, will also be in attendance and will be presenting a talk on the first day titled ‘Buyers and Sellers: The Global Picture on Hotel Transaction Trends’, providing an overview of trends in valuations and transactions, looking at capital sources, demand and prices.
Additionally, Anna Friedrich, Associate Director in Christie & Co’s UK Hotels Brokerage team will be moderating a panel discussion on day two of the conference titled ‘More for Your Money: A Guide to the Hostel Environment’, leading an interesting debate on the growing alternative accommodation class.
Ahead of the event, Chris Day, Global Managing Director at Christie & Co, comments, “As ever, we’re looking forward to a fantastic few days at IHIF, meeting with new and familiar faces and keeping up to date with the expert insights and trends in the ever-evolving hospitality industry. After publishing our Business Outlook 2019 report in January, we highlighted the steady growth of the hotel sector and high values still being seen in the UK and Europe.”
“Our Hotels teams have been exceptionally busy over the last 12 months, not only in Brokerage but also Valuation Services and Consultancy, as many businesses seek to future proof and forge paths for growth in a politically uncertain climate. IHIF is great opportunity for us to hear from those across the sector and share ideas about what the next year will bring, which is no doubt set to see some exciting developments.”
Christie & Co transacts, values and advises on hundreds of hotels a year. The team attending IHIF 2019 represent the network of 30 offices throughout the UK, Europe and Asia, giving an intimate knowledge of both local and international markets.
