Cirencester's Twelve Bells sold to experienced local operator
Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co has successfully brokered the sale of the Twelve Bells in Cirencester off an asking price of £575,000.
The pub has been sold to Mr & Mrs Brown who have previously both owned and run a cafe and worked at The Kings Head in the Cotswold town. They are therefore very familiar with the local market with a wealth of experience in the trade, and James Brown is keen to bring the business back to more of a traditional pub offering a wider range of real ales.
The Grade II listed inn reopened in 2011 after being carefully restored and refurbished by the previous owners, Mr & Mrs Mutlow. They also added a micro brewery to the site producing around 600 pints a week of a brew known as Ciren Ales.
Mr & Mrs Mutlow will now be looking to take a well earned break from the trade and plan to travel around the world over the next year.
Nicholas Calfe, Director at Christie & Co who handled the sale comments, “Freehold pubs rarely come to the market in Cirencester and it is no wonder this was snapped up quickly. We wish the new owners every success.”
