Cambaz Bar & Grill, the popular Mediterranean inspired restaurant in Sutton Coldfield has been sold by the Birmingham office of specialist property adviser Christie + Co.

The freehold interest in the business has been sold to Brewhouse & Kitchen, an independent pub group for an undisclosed sum off an asking price of £1.75 million.

Contracts exchanged within a few weeks of Kris Gumbrell, Executive Chairman at Brewhouse & Kitchen, viewing the site.

Aside from a vibrant menu of classic pub dishes, Brewhouse & Kitchen offer a comprehensive range of core and seasonal beers as well as an excellent selection of wines and ciders.

The former 210-cover restaurant is the London-based group’s eleventh pub site. All of the pubs have a microbrewery and a Brewer on site. The Brewer not only looks after the production of craft beer but also runs ‘experience days’ and master classes for customers to be involved in the brewing process.

Kris Gumbrell says: “Cambaz is a superb high quality freehold on the main thoroughfare into one of Birmingham’s most sought-after suburbs and the second great freehold that we secured through the Christie + Co. Having worked closely with Christie + Co for a successful exit with Convivial London Pubs, we look forward to continuing our successful relationship with them.”

The sale was coordinated by Charles Jones, licensed specialist at Christie + Co, who comments: “We have a long-standing relationship with Brewhouse & Kitchen and a strong understanding of their requirements. Therefore upon receiving this instruction we immediately knew that the site would be an ideal fit for the Brewhouse & Kitchen concept. We wish Kris and his team all the best on this exciting new venture and look forward to working closely with the group on their expansion programme.”
