Cricklade House Hotel sold to private family enterprise

Specialist property business adviser, Christie & Co has completed on the sale of Cricklade House in Cricklade, Wiltshire situated near the Cotswolds.

Set within 30 acres of secluded grounds and surrounded by a 9 hole PGA registered golf course, the country house hotel was built at the turn of the nineteenth century and occupies an elevated position providing panoramic views over the golf course and surrounding countryside. Boasting 47 individually appointed guest bedrooms, Cricklade House is also a popular venue for exclusive wedding events, private banqueting and conferences.   

Acting on behalf of Phil & Valerie Harris, Christie & Co was instructed to carry out a comprehensive marketing campaign which resulted in numerous offers and a sale to Anil Puri of Purico Limited. Founded in 1983, Purico is now one of the biggest private family enterprises in the UK. Headquartered in Nottingham, Purico employs more than 3,000 people worldwide in the automotive, care, construction, hotel & leisure, investment, paper and property sectors.

Anil Puri of Purico Limited comments; “We have ambitious plans to upgrade and modernise this 30 acre nine hole golf course property and have budgeted 1 million towards renovating Cricklade House.  The main house will immediately undergo a complete renovation to make it suitable for being part of our stable of businesses.  We are considering joining a brand which is under discussion, in order to further enhance our marketing footprint.”

Cricklade House Hotel was sold off a guide price of £3,500,000.
