East Street News sold by Christie + Co
Businesses sold
Specialist retail property adviser Christie + Co has sold East Street News in Bedminster, Bristol.
East Street News is an independent newsagent with the National Lottery and has excellent footfall. The outgoing vendors, Mr and Mrs Stone, had successfully operated the newsagents for over 25 years and were looking forward to retirement.
Bedminster has enjoyed recent rejuvenation following a successful bid to become ‘A Business Improvement District’. The Bedminster Town Team secured funding for £400,000 over five years to improve the area.
The buyers Mr and Mrs Suthan already own a successful Premier branded convenience store in Weston-super-Mare and were looking to expand their business. Mr and Mrs Suthan plan to completely re-fit the shop to offer a more convenience style format.
Dave Morris of Christie + Co’s specialist Retail team in Bristol handled the sale. He comments: “With strong National Lottery sales due to the shops busy location, Mr and Mrs Suthan are hoping to offer a more grocery lead format by giving the shop a full re-fit. We congratulate Mr and Mrs Suthan on this excellent acquisition and wish Mr and Mrs Stone all the best for the future.”
