Family run butchers looking for new owners with Christie & Co
Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co have brought to market four quality butchers located in high street locations in Kent.
J C Rook and Sons Ltd own 11 butchers’ stores throughout Kent, and after many years of trading, the owners have reviewed their whole business structure and set objectives for the mid and long-term. The company have taken into consideration many factors including the mix and location of stores, the current economic conditions, increasing high-street rents and upcoming long-lease renewals. The outcome of this review is that J C Rook and Sons Ltd have taken the decision to test the market appetite for the sale of these stores as going concerns.
The current directors Andrew Rook and Allison Herkes comment, “All of our stores are currently trading well, and we have seen a significant uptake in sales over recent months. Our staff are committed to providing excellent quality produce with knowledgeable and friendly customer service. We have observed that other local butchers have had to shut stores in those towns in recent months, yet Rooks have maintained their presence across the whole of the county thus far.”
Jack Dudley, Senior Business Agent at Christie & Co, is handling the sale and comments, “J C Rook and Sons Ltd have been trading successfully for over 50 years and is a well-known brand in Kent. This asset sale would provide any incoming buyer with a great opportunity as these stores are located in highly sought-after high-street locations.”
