Former Rastrick School property in West Yorkshire gets new lease of life
Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of former Rastrick Independent School & Day Nursery in Brighouse, West Yorkshire.
Founded over 25 years ago, this well-established former school had capacity for up to 482 pupils aged between five and 16 years. The school’s previous owners had maintained a traditional feel throughout the property, retaining a grand reception hallway, as well as consistently investing and expanding the facilities to include a generous sized sports hall and multiple classrooms.
The site sits in a predominantly residential area of Brighouse, West Yorkshire, which provides excellent commuter links, including a direct train line to London Kings Cross, Leeds, and Manchester.
The school’s previous owner, Rastrick Educational Services Limited, went into liquidation in October 2019 and Christie & Co was appointed by Joint Liquidator, Claire Dowson of Begbies Traynor, to market the property.
The site has been purchased by local housing developer, D2M3 (Yorkshire) Limited, which plans to convert the property into residential dwellings while maintaining the building’s original features. Speaking on behalf of the company, Director, Mr Mark Robinson, comments, “The school presents a rare opportunity to deliver a signature development in the heart of Rastrick that reflects the history and heritage of the site.
