Specialist business property adviser Christie & Co has been appointed to sell the Grade-II listed Warkworth House Hotel.
Built in 1820 as a coaching inn, the Warkworth House Hotel is located in the centre of the picturesque Northumberland town of Warkworth, overlooked by its impressive castle ruins which dominate the skyline.
The 14-bedroom hotel also has a good sized restaurant, a resident’s lounge and a bar which is open to the public. Included in the price is an attractive two storey cottage which has two bedrooms, lounge and kitchen.
Warkworth is well positioned to take full advantage of the wealth of tourist attractions in the area, such as the stunning coastline, Northumberland National Park, the charming villages and the multitude of castles and historic sites which are close at hand.
Christie & Co Director and hotels specialist Mark Worley is handling this sale from the firms Newcastle office and says, “As well as being a well-run and established hotel operation, the hotel also holds a great deal of historical interest, and even contains a staircase from Brandenburg House in London, which was home to the notorious ‘Rebel’ Queen Caroline of Brunswick, first cousin and second wife of King George IV.
“Sandra Thomas and Theresa Collins purchased the hotel from Christie & Co in 2012 and have invested heavily on the refurbishment and upgrade of the building. As a result they have seen the trade levels grow year on year and the hotel currently enjoys excellent Tripadvisor reports. They now have a wonderful hotel, which is a credit to the town and the area.
The Warkworth House Hotel is offered for sale by Christie & Co at an asking price of £895,000.
