Green Man named as Bedfordshire's finest
Clophill’s Green Man has been named as Bedfordshire’s Best Fine Dining Restaurant 2016 in the Bedfordshire Food & Drink Awards.
The restaurant, which was recently put up for sale with specialist business property adviser Christie & Co, is celebrated for its high-end Italian cuisine and has won the award in recognition of its food and drink offering as well as its atmosphere and ambience.
Now on the market for £699,950, the pub-restaurant, which occupies a Grade II listed detached building in the village, is currently placed 17th out of 333 restaurants in Bedford on TripAdvisor and has a rating of 4.5 stars.
The Green Man has two main dining areas with two bars which can accommodate up to 100 covers, and a separate attached function room with a bar. It also has external dining space and retains many of its traditional characteristics and period features.
Mark Loveday, Business Agent at Christie & Co’s Reading office comments, “It’s not often that a pub or a restaurant comes to the market with an achievement like this demonstrating an extremely high reputation in both the local area as well as further afield.
“This is therefore a great opportunity for an experienced operator or first-time purchaser to acquire a substantial freehold property with a well-established and successful business, with scope to develop it further.
“Post-Brexit, the market in the south east of England is picking up for licensed properties as confidence increases and public spending continues at a rate largely unharmed by the decision to leave the EU.
“This area of Bedfordshire has always proven popular with people looking to own a pub-restaurant business and following its recent recognition, we expect a surge of interest from potential buyers.”
Offers are also invited for the leasehold arrangement.
