Group of two nurseries in Suffolk sold to existing operator
Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of Bridge Farm and Rendlesham Nurseries in Woodbridge, Suffolk.
Bridge Farm and Rendlesham Nurseries are two purpose-built children’s day nurseries with a fantastic reputation for high-quality childcare, with both nurseries being rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted.
The businesses were previously owned by Mr Dan and Mrs Tina Powick who left London to move back to their hometown of Woodbridge and, in 2005, decided to open their home to their first few children. Since then, the nurseries have grown from strength to strength. They were brought to market to allow Mr and Mrs Powick to pursue other avenues.
The nurseries have been purchased by Golden Apple Nurseries. Speaking on behalf of the company, Mrs Evelyn Wheeler comments, “We feel so blessed to add these two nurseries to our Golden Apples family and we have a hard task to follow in filling Dan and Tina’s shoes. Mr Powick comments, "I am thrilled to be handing over the nurseries to Evelyn who has a proven track record in providing outstanding care to the children at her other settings. It is also ideal to have someone who lives in the East Anglian area and is going to be hands-on with the business. Christie & Co was able to find the ideal buyer to take the nurseries forward whilst building on the success we have enjoyed over the last 15 years.”
Sophie Willcox, Director at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, comments, “I am delighted to have completed on the sale of Bridge Farm and Rendlesham. It has been a pleasure working with Dan and I wish Evelyn the best of luck for the future of the nurseries.”
Bridge Farm and Rendlesham Nurseries were sold at an undisclosed price.
