Horse & Groom in Charlton sold after competitive process
Businesses sold
Acting on behalf of RBS, specialist property adviser Christie + Co has sold the Horse & Groom, a traditional country inn situated in the picturesque Wiltshire village of Charlton.
The detached 16th century property has been sold for an undisclosed sum off a £795,000 guide price to experienced operators who own two other successful pubs, Tunnel House near Cirencester and The Crown at Giddeahall.
Within just a few weeks of trading under the new ownership, the Horse & Groom is attracting rave reviews on Trip Advisor for its good quality pub food, local real ales and inviting atmosphere with open fire places.
Surrounded by glorious countryside, Horse & Groom offers stylish accommodation in the form of five spacious and beautifully appointed en-suite rooms, a superb restaurant and two detached outbuildings suitable for conversion (subject to planning permission).
Nicholas Calfe, Director at Christie + Co’s Bristol office transacted the sale. He comments: “There is a dwindling supply of freehold pub assets in the market, so the instruction to sell a premium property such as the Horse & Groom generated both significant and competitive interest.”
