Inn near Hadrian's Wall seeks new owner through Christie & Co

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co has been instructed to sell Milecastle Inn, a traditional 1600’s pub and restaurant located just 500 meters from the world-famous tourist attraction and spectacular World Heritage Site, Hadrian’s Wall and close by to The Sill, the newly opened National Landscape Discovery Centre.

Situated near Haltwhistle, at the foot of Northumberland National Park, the business attracts tourists drawn to the area to visit one of the country’s best preserved and most formidable sights of Rome’s great frontiers. Hadrian’s Wall stretches 73 miles across the North of England, through some of the most dramatic countryside in England. Boasting two self-contained holiday cottages, Milecastle Inn benefits from the mass crowds through multiple income streams in the form of wet, dry and accommodation.

Current owners, Kevin and Clare Hind previously operated the pub themselves and when their most recent tenants vacated, they decided now was the right time for them to sell the freehold.

David Cash, Business Agent at Christie & Co’s Newcastle office who is handling the sale comments, “The pub enjoys unopposed views of Hadrian’s Wall and the beautiful Northumberland countryside and is a popular stop-off point for tourists year-round. With newly refurbished owner's accommodation, the business would be ideal for an owner-operator looking to live on site and work in the business themselves.”

Christie & Co is seeking an asking price of £495,000 for the freehold interest.
