Keen Dental Care in Biddulph sold to expanding independent operator

Keen Dental Care is an immaculately presented three-surgery mixed dental practice with huge potential for private growth. It is situated in the affluent town centre of Biddulph and occupies a large modern property with ample space to expand.

The business was previously owned by Dr Fiona Cuthill and Dr Julian Keen, who decided to sell in order to free up more time to spend with their family. Dr Cuthill comments, “Julian and I tendered for the contract in autumn 2007, whilst both working as Associates in Cheshire, and opened as a squat on 1st September 2008. Initially there were just the two of us, but we soon took in a therapist and expanded the practice from there. 

“We decided to sell as we wanted to enjoy spending more time with our children and also to look at specialising in other areas of dentistry such as facial aesthetics. We are very much looking forward to working with Sanraj and his team whilst they develop the practice as part of their group. We found the whole sale process quite smooth, despite being in the middle of a worldwide pandemic.” 

Keen Dental Care has been purchased by Dr Sanraj Dulay, who also owns Dore Dental Care in Sheffield. He comments, “Keen Dental Care is an exceptional practice which has been run and developed brilliantly by Julian and Fiona Keen since they started the practice in 2008. It is not too far from our sister practice in Dore, Sheffield and, across the two sites, we hope to have a specialist in-house referral system whereby we can treat patients of all needs, from check-ups to complex implant and restorative cases. 

“The practice has an excellent reputation, fantastic patient base, great dentists and staff. I plan on keeping the practice operating as it is, with the addition of more specialist services on offer. Julian and Fiona are an integral part of the team at Keen Dental Care and have plans to stay at the practice for many more years to come. I am really looking forward to working with them.

“I have worked with Christie & Co previously and the service delivered by Jonathan Watson and the team has always been exceptional. I look forward to working with them again in the future. It was my first experience working with Jawad Anjum and the Christie Finance team. It has been a brilliant experience and I was given tremendous support throughout the process, with Jawad being actively involved in all aspects of the transfer.”

The sale was funded through Christie Finance. Jawad Anjum, Director at Christie Finance, comments, “Sanraj was the perfect client and an absolute pleasure to work with. Keen Dental Care was sold at an undisclosed price.
