Mexican restaurant looking for new owner
Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co has been appointed to market Escondido, a Mexican restaurant in the charming village of Sandgate, Kent. Located between Folkestone and Hythe and with good road connections, Sandgate spans two miles of the Kent coastline with beaches and a high street offering small independent shops, restaurants, inns and antiques and collectables.
Positioned on the busy high street just yards from the beach, the large glass fronted restaurant comprises a light and airy 90 cover dining area with wooden tables and chairs, bar area, good size commercial kitchen and large basement area. On the first floor is a large storage area, which could be utilised as further dining space for an additional 20 covers, if required.
Trading seven days a week, the business is currently owner operated with a team of full time and part time staff. Having been under the same ownership for the past 12 years, current owners Gemma Race and Laurielle Hampton are now looking to retire from the sector and comment, “We are looking to move on from the sector for family and personal reasons, but we will certainly miss the business, as it has served us well for many years, and hope the person coming in can continue what we have achieved.”
James Hughes, Business Agent at Christie & Co comments, “Escondido is a well-regarded restaurant which prides itself on its fresh homemade dishes and stylish cocktails. Benefitting from regular repeat custom, as well as tourists visiting the area, this is a great opportunity which will appeal to both owner operators and commercial operators, who may wish to continue trading the business as it is or introduce a new concept to the village.”
Christie & Co is seeking leasehold offers of £65,000.
