New owner takes on Twickenham pub & restaurant Le Baron
Le Baron, a closed free of tie pub and restaurant situated in the heart of Twickenham, has been sold through specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co to experienced operators.
The pub previously comprised a 40-cover bar, an 18-cover raised dining area and reception area, a restaurant service station with access to dining rooms for 47 covers, as well as a 40 cover garden terrace. Having been closed for the past seven months, Le Baron previously enjoyed a strong level of footfall due to its central location, as well as its proximity to Twickenham Stadium which regularly draws in large crowds.
The business was originally purchased by the previous owners through Christie & Co in 2016, and it has since been transformed from an outdated, wet led pub into a French/Mediterranean restaurant and bar. Following the successful sale of the business, they plan to focus on their other business interests.
New owners, Mr & Mrs Tank, decided to purchase the property and expand their portfolio following on from the success of their first business venture, Wags N Tales, a popular coffee bar and kitchen in Surbiton. Mr & Mrs Tank comments, “We are thrilled to have this opportunity to welcome Twickenham locals to our Wags family! Having previously lived in St. Margarets we adore this area and when the chance to buy Le Baron arose, we knew we had to jump to it.
“Whether looking for a cup of speciality coffee, homemade cake or delicious brunch Wags hopes to become a community hub, especially for foodies, sports lovers and dog owners. Enjoy a pint or a cocktail in our gorgeous beer garden whilst watching a game of football or rugby on our many large screens.
“Award winning Wags N Tales offers a unique relaxed environment for adults and families. We are very dog friendly as our name suggests and cannot wait to welcome the whole family.”
Stewart Harkness, Associate Director at Christie & Co handled the sale and comments, “I am looking forward to seeing the new owners take over and introduce a second Wags N Tales at this site in Twickenham and wish them every success. Due to the prime location of this site, it drummed up a lot of interest for operators with various concepts and I’m sure that the residents and visitors in Twickenham will appreciate an exciting new establishment to enjoy.”
