With a rich history, this elegant 17 bedroom hotel dates back to 1900 when the original building was constructed consisting of four cottages.  The buildings were eventually converted into one house and named St Cloud, retaining part of this name when the property became a hotel.

The Cloud, which has been in the same ownership for over 35 years, comprises three lounges, a bar, 50 cover restaurant, conservatory, 30 cover function room, 17 tastefully furnished ensuite letting bedrooms and one bedroom owners’ accommodation.  Guests’ car parking is situated at the front of the property whilst to the rear there is a large lawned garden with terrace seating and rockery, an office and assortment of garden sheds.

The Tiller Bar which sits within the property is adorned with memorabilia and photographs dating back to the proprietor, Avril Owton’s earlier dancing days as a world famous Tiller Girl.

Enjoying a high reputation locally, the business attracts a strong mix of leisure and weekend guests as well as corporate business throughout the week.  Due to its beautiful setting, it is a popular choice for weddings and guests can enjoy al fresco dining in the summer as well as views across the New Forest.

Ed Bellfield of Christie & Co’s Winchester office is handling the sale.  He comments: “Avril and her team have been successfully running The Cloud Hotel for over 35 years and this offers a fantastic opportunity for an operator to acquire a freehold hotel in an idyllic New Forest setting.”

An asking price of £1.9m is being sought for the freehold.
