New owners found for Bath destination public house

Jules and her partner Brad decided to sell the business in order to pursue a move to Cognac in France, where they are going to continue restoring and converting a former distillery into a Chateau suitable for hosting events. Jules comments, “It’s been an incredible journey owning the Inn, having experienced some of the most memorable times of my life. I have worked with fantastic staff and made amazing lifelong friends. Whilst I am sad to say goodbye, I am equally excited about my new chapter in France. I wish the new owners Alan and Caroline all the best and I am very confident they will do extremely well in taking the Holcombe Inn to greater heights and felt they were the perfect match!”
 
The Holcombe Inn has been purchased by Caroline Gardiner and Alan Lucas of LucasGardiner Ltd, a London based creative catering, consultancy & event company. The new owners have worked in London for the past 25 years and will bring a wealth of experience to their new home in Somerset.

In 2014 Caroline and Alan established bespoke catering company; LucasGardiner, which has grown rapidly over the last four years. Caroline previously trained at L’Ecole de Cuisine Francaise in Sussex, before embarking on her career in catering. Alan has over 20 years’ experience of fine dining cuisine having worked in restaurants and hotels, including the Mandarin Oriental.

Caroline will run the operations and logistics side of the company whilst Alan and his team of chefs will focus on the food production aspect. They both pride themselves on their love of seasonal British food and the menus are littered with culinary classics reinvented for a modern audience all whilst ensuring that the best quality ingredients are always at the forefront.

They comment, “The plan was always to move away from the hustle and bustle of London and create something unique and food-led in the countryside and we were very lucky to find The Holcombe Inn that is already a very established food-led business, with a great team and ethos.

“We are looking forward to working closely with our chefs and local suppliers to produce modern, contemporary, seasonal food using ingredients from our own gardens. We are also delighted to inherit a fabulous team of staff who seem to always get great reviews and we are delighted to be working alongside them.”
