Sunnyhills Farm Shop, a multi-award winning business in the beautiful Northumberland village of Belford has changed hands.

The delightful property encompasses a food hall, delicatessen, gift hall and cafe, and is recognised for its passion for local produce and creativity.

Ian and Debbie Paver, who are part of the Pavers family of the Yorkshire based footwear retailer, Pavers Shoes, have purchased the property in a deal brokered by specialist property adviser Christie + Co.

Pavers Shoes famously launched the world's first TV shopping channel dedicated solely to selling shoes.  Debbie Paver will be known to many from her regular slots presenting on the Ideal World shopping channel and Pavers TV, while Ian recently purchased Junction 28 — a popular 200 cover restaurant in Newport from Christie + Co.

Ian says: “I have worked successfully in the footwear industry for a long time and have reached a stage in my life where I need a new challenge and change of direction. The aim is to make Sunnyhills a resounding success — not just a farm shop with a good cafe, but a destination and a day out!”

“My wife will take an active part in the management of the business while juggling TV work and the kids. We will utilise Debbie’s background in catering and create an exciting new menu for the cafe, while also increasing the opening hours. There are also plans to expand the Retail and Gifts divisions, extend the children’s play area and have a Deli area packed with freshly homemade meals, pies, quiches, breads and cakes."

Andrew Birnie, of Christie + Co’s Newcastle office who handled the sale comments: “Our clients started Sunnyhills from scratch in 2010 and the business now plays an integral part in the vitality and vibrancy of the Belford community. We wish them all the best in their future endeavours and also good luck to Ian and Debbie on their new and exciting venture."
