Old Vicarage Hotel, Bridgwater, changes hands

Christie + Co are delighted to announce the sale of the Grade II-listed Old Vicarage Hotel in Bridgwater, to expanding hotel group Harbour Lounge Ltd.

The historic 14th century town centre property has been sold for an undisclosed sum off an asking price of £795,000.

Situated in the oldest part of the market town and overlooking the impressive St Mary’s Church, the 20 bedroom property has many historic features, with some dating back to the 14th century.

The Old Vicarage Hotel caters for many tourists visiting the nearby Quantock Hills and Exmoor National Park as well as corporate clients from various companies in the area, the expanding business parks around Bridgwater and the new Hinkley Point C power station development.

The new owner, Harbour Lounge Ltd, is looking forward to developing the hotel’s restaurant and function side of the business.
