Outstanding day nursery in Worcestershire sold through Christie & Co

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, is delighted announce the sale of Little Oaks Day Nursery in Malvern, Worcestershire.

Boasting an impressive ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating, Little Oaks Day Nursery is a purpose-built facility which makes excellent use of the large amount of space available both internally and externally and has an effective operating capacity of 99. The daily running of the nursery is controlled by a strong staff network of 32 employees, all managed by a dedicated full-time manager and deputy.

The nursery is located in a prominent part of a business park in Malvern, Worcestershire, and sits among 114 other businesses and close to a commuter route, making it a convenient location for commuting parents and business park users alike.

Little Oaks Day Nursery has been run to a very high standard for the last 11 years by Mr and Mrs Egerton who decided to sell to pursue retirement. Mrs Christine Egerton has successfully grown the reputation of the business and significantly improved occupancy with a hands-on approach to standards and quality. Mr Simon Egerton comments, “We chose to put our Nursery on the market with Jassi Sunner at Christie & Co as they offered the best terms and service. We would never have come into contact with our purchaser without their contacts. They kept in touch throughout the purchase particularly through lockdown. Jassi and the team at Christie & Co made the process comfortable.”

Jassi Sunner, Associate Director of Childcare & Education at Christie & Co, who handled the sale comments, “What a pleasure it was to work with Simon and Chris. They had reasonable and realistic expectations as well as a good working relationship with the buyer. Little Oaks is a fantastic day nursery and an excellent local reputation for care, with no expense spared! After a short marketing campaign and a range of interest, we were able to introduce the buyer to this transaction as it fit well with her existing portfolio, notably one of her settings had a whole host of similarities! This helped to make the transition and negotiations friendly and accommodating. We wish them all the best with their retirement plans, and we are confident the buyer will continue with their ethos.

“The sale was a great example of our local knowledge and ability to introduce a range of qualified and vetted buyers to a day nursery transaction. Once the sale was agreed, we managed it through to completion with regular solicitor updates and liaising with any funding enquiries. We look forward to working with the buyer again in the future.”

Little Oaks Day Nursery was sold off an asking price of £1,300,000.
