Oyster Inn on Scotland's West Coast a good catch for a new owner
The Oyster Inn, a bar and restaurant with letting rooms in Connel, near Oban has come to the market through specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co.
Originally a coaching inn dating back to the 18th century, the business has been under its current ownership since 2000 and is currently run under management.
The site incorporates The Glue Pot Bar and The Oyster Inn Restaurant which serves locally caught seafood as well as traditional fare. There are also 16 ensuite letting rooms which have been rated 4-star by Visit Scotland.
The hotel has been extended over the years to include a large conservatory which has spectacular views over Loch Etive. There is also owner’s accommodation included in the sale.
Stuart Drysdale, Associate Director at Christie & Co who is handling the sale comments, “This stone-built, traditional restaurant and bar is popular with both locals and tourists alike. The hotel also caters perfectly for families as well all those who enjoy walking, fishing, diving and kayaking on the nearby coast.
“The business is especially busy in the summer months and the restaurant closes during the winter, with the rest of the hotel operating and food being served in The Glue Pot. Turnover figures are excellent and the business is highly profitable with fully audited accounts available. This presents an ideal opportunity for either an independent buyer or existing operator to take a successful and well-established business even further.”
