Picturesque pub close to the River Avon snapped up by new owner

The New Queen Inn, situated in Avon between Christchurch and Ringwood, close to the River Avon, has been let through specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co to an experienced operator.

Having been closed for the past four months, the substantial two storey, food led pub represented a tremendous opportunity due to its highly prominent roadside position on the B3334 and proximity to the picturesque River Avon. Comprising a spacious open plan bar and restaurant for up to 140 covers and an attractive trade garden with lawns, a children’s play area and a decked area for an additional 30 covers, The New Queen Inn is well equipped to cater to high levels of trade.

Located close to the popular south coast and bustling towns and cities including Christchurch, Bournemouth and Southampton, The New Queen Inn sees significant passing trade and visitors drawn to the area, particularly in the summer months.

The pub was let on a new lease from owners, Avon Tyrrell Estate, which own the freehold and land which serve as the site for The New Queen Inn.

New owner, Link Pub Co Ltd, has previously run several quality pub and restaurant establishments in Dorset and Somerset. They comment, “We are very excited to have secured the leasehold purchase of The New Queen Inn and look forward to re-opening after our renovation works, in the middle of June. Avon is a beautiful area and deserves a successful, welcoming pub which can cater for not only the local community, but the many visitors who explore the area every year.

“Our aim is to put The New Queen Inn back on the map as a place to dine. It has previously enjoyed a robust trade and with exciting plans and new ideas in place, we are sure it will continue to be a successful pub for many years to come.”

Richard Wood, Senior Business Agent at Christie & Co, who was handling the sale comments, “I was delighted to facilitate the transaction which will see another well known pub re-open its doors with a successful operator at the helm. We wish Link Pub Co Ltd every success in what will be a strong business for many years to come.”
