Popular Guildford convenience store finds new owner within a week
A high turnover convenience store on the outskirts of Guildford, Surrey has been sold through specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, to an experienced operator.
Having been recently refurbished, the Nisa branded convenience store offers the customer an exceptional experience with well laid out shelving, large full height fridges and excellent signage to promote the wide range of products stocked.
The well-maintained mini supermarket sees strong levels of trade, benefitting from limited local competition on the busy Park Barn Parade and high footfall from being ideally situated within a large housing development.
The previous owners, Mr & Mrs Atwal sold the business in order to pursue their retirement and comment, “We were delighted with the huge amount of interest that the marketing produced and with the way Tom Glanvill from Christie & Co handled the sales process. We had a large number of bids and were delighted to complete the sale in a very short period of time. We would highly recommend Christie and Co.”
The new owners, Mr & Mrs Kapoor are experienced in the retail sector and comment, “Tom has been a very key part to putting this deal together. As soon as we viewed this store, we knew it was for us and something we wanted to commit to as a family. Tom saw our vision and passion and insured everything went very smoothly and efficiently. He was always on hand to help and happy to go the extra mile to make sure both us and the sellers were happy. We will no doubt be doing business again with Tom and Christie & Co.”
Tom Glanvill, Senior Business Agent at Christie & Co’s Winchester office, handled the sale and comments, “It is always really pleasing to exceed a vendor’s expectations, and the sheer volume of enquiries, viewings and offers that we received, plus the speed at which an offer was made and accepted, perfectly illustrates the level of demand for high performing convenience stores.
“The store attracted significant interest with over 40 viewings in the first week and received 18 individual offers, ultimately being purchased by an experienced operator in deal that was ideal for both vendor and buyer.”
Christie & Co sold the Nisa Guildford off a leasehold asking price of £300,000.
