Popular Merseyside supermarket sold to experienced group operator
Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co has completed on the sale of Parry’s Supermarket, a well-established supermarket and post office situated within the densely populated Merseyside suburb of Stockbridge Village. The business was purchased by Amacor Retail, a multi-site operator.
Parry’s is a modern purpose-built supermarket situated within Croft Shopping Centre, the only shopping centre in the Stockbridge Village residential area. Extremely well-presented, the 8,500 sqft. retail store has been serving the local community for the past decade, with a core weekly turnover in excess of £65,000.
Previous owner David Parry was looking to sell in order to pursue another opportunity away from the retail sector and he comments, “Having previously decided to use smaller sales agencies to sell my business unsuccessfully, I engaged Christie & Co’s services. They found the right buyer almost immediately and were extremely helpful during the rest of the sales process. In particular, James Moore-Martin’s knowledge and experience assisted us to achieve a very acceptable selling price and managed the whole process from beginning to end. A perfect example of you get what you pay for!”
New owners, Amacor Retail, plan on continuing the strong operation and performance of the supermarket.
James Moore-Martin, Associate Director at Christie & Co who handled the sale comments, “The successful completion of this high-profile supermarket and post office is further evidence of the strength of the retail market in the North West. The site was disposed of on a highly confidential basis and went under offer swiftly after receiving high levels of interest.”
The site was sold for an undisclosed sum.
