Profitable pair of nurseries sold to growing national operator
Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co is pleased to announce the freehold sale of Playmates Nurseries Ltd, a group of two successful children’s day nurseries located in Widnes, Cheshire to expanding national operator, Storal Learning Ltd.
The two sister settings are situated within a three-mile radius of one another, operating from equally attractive converted and extended, two storey residential properties, in which fluidity of brand and ethos are visible throughout. Located along a major commuter road in a popular and well-connected Cheshire town, the two nurseries generated a strong level of interest when they were introduced to the market.
With consistently ‘Good’ Ofsted outcomes at both settings and a combined operating capacity for 100 children, previous owners Gill Dillon and Christine Devlin had built up an excellent reputation for providing high quality childcare and the nurseries are an integral part of the local community.
Christine Devlin of Playmates Nurseries comments, “Thanks to Sofia Beck at Christie & Co for finding the right buyer for our business which has been very close to our hearts for the last 21 years. We have every confidence that Storal Learning will build on what we have achieved and that Playmates Nurseries will go from strength to strength with the guidance and experience of people who are as passionate about childcare as we are. Everybody who was involved in the sale has made what we saw initially as a daunting process, a straightforward and relatively easy one. Now retirement beckons!”
Ashwin Grover & Varun Chanrai of Storal Learning Ltd comment, “Sofia and her team at Christie & Co were highly professional and instrumental in supporting a seamless sale process. We are grateful to Sofia for identifying Playmates as a very strong fit for Storal Learning, given the emphasis we place on high quality staff, beautiful settings and a culture where everyone strives to provide the highest quality of childcare. We are very excited to build on the strong foundations set by Christine and Gill.”
