Quality group of day nurseries sold to expanding group operator
Premier Nurseries, located in Iver and Uxbridge, West London and Buckinghamshire, have been sold through specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co to a growing operator.
Premier Nurseries is known for providing high quality childcare to 128 children across the two settings. Jag and Shushma Kumar, who originally practiced as solicitors, struggled to find childcare for their own children and so embarked on the journey of opening their own nurseries in 1991. Over the past 28 years, the nurseries have grown from strength to strength and have established an enviable reputation in their local communities. They have been voted in the top three nurseries in Hillingdon, which is a testament to the quality provision they provide.
Having operated the nurseries for over 25 years, the previous owners, Mr and Mrs Kumar are looking forward to pursuing new ventures in their retirement and comments, “Sophie Wilcox who dealt with the sale of our legacy was extremely professional and proficient from beginning to end and made the whole sale process effortless by overcoming any potential issues before they arose. We have no hesitation in recommending her and Christie’s to anybody considering a sale of their childcare business.”
Premier Nurseries was acquired by The Old Station nursery group which brings them to 11 nurseries in the UK. The Old Station Nursery group was acquired by La Maison Bleue earlier in the year and this is their first purchase since expanding in to the UK childcare market.
Sarah Steel, Managing Director comments, “We’re delighted to have completed this first acquisition of Premier Nurseries and really look forward to getting to know the children, staff and parents and to them joining The Old Station Nursery family. Jag and Shushma have worked hard to build an enviable reputation at both the nurseries and we look forward in taking this forward.”
Sophie Willcox, Associate Director at Christie & Co handled the sale and comments, “I am delighted to have found the right buyer for Jag and Shushma. The nurseries received a tremendous level of interest, no doubt because of their reputation for providing exceptional childcare in the sector. I wish Jag and Shushma all the best in their retirement. It was a real pleasure to work with them."
“I wish The Old Station all the best with their first acquisition since being acquired by La Maison Bleue and would welcome the opportunity of working with them in their expansion plans in the future.”
