Reading convenience store finds new owner within two days
The highly profitable and well established Nisa branded convenience store on Park View Drive, in the Berkshire town of Reading, has been sold within 48 hours of being brought to the market through specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, to an experienced operator.
Located on a prominent corner plot within a large residential area, the family run store captures a large volume of passing trade from nearby residents, as well as local schools and offices in Reading’s commercial district. Offering a high quality shopping experience, the store features well laid out shelving, refrigeration units and signage to promote the wide range of products and also generates additional income by providing post office services.
Previous owner, Mr Rai, who had operated the business for a number of years with his family, decided to sell the leasehold in order to retire from the sector. He comments, “We are delighted to have sold our business to an experienced operator and have no doubt that with his experience in the sector, he will continue to grow the business for many years to come and we wish him well as he embarks on his new venture.”
Tony Walker, Business Agent at Christie & Co’s Reading office handled the sale and comments, “I am delighted with the fantastic response we have had to this Nisa store. As soon as the details were listed online, we received a high number of calls from potential buyers keen to view the property and Mr Rai accepted an offer within 48 hours. Both the previous and new owners are very happy to have completed on a swift deal which satisfied both parties.
“The convenience store market remains very busy with single, regional and corporate operators actively looking for new acquisitions, so I am not at all surprised by the strong interest this business received.”
