The highly active specialist developer, Frontier Estates, secured planning permission for a contemporary 70-bedroom care home over the generous 1.97-acre site. The best-in-class design offers 100 per cent en suite wet rooms and amenities such as a café, salon, choice of living and day spaces, activity room, and a family room. The home will be surrounded by landscaped, accessible gardens with a variety of functional spaces.
Following a competitive sales process with Christie & Co, the site has been sold to Rotherwood Group.
John Fennel, CEO – Rotherwood Group, comments, “We are excited to add to our portfolio in Shropshire as this site perfectly complements our existing home, Roden Hall. This is all part of our longer-term commitment to broadening our impact enriching the lives of the older generation.”
Sara Hartill, Associate Director - Healthcare Development & Investment at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, comments, “A care home development site in this location is perfectly suited to the needs of future residents and will integrate well into the town as a vital community asset. This was supported by strong interest in the site and a competitive bidding process.
“I’m delighted that Rotherwood, with their superb track record, affiliation to Shropshire, and in-depth local knowledge, has secured the location, and I look forward to visiting the development in due course.”
The care home will provide a valuable community asset to the town, with works due to commence in Spring 2023.
The site was sold for an undisclosed price.
