The highly regarded five-bedroom Victorian guesthouse has operated in York City Centre for a number of years under the guidance of Jane and Peter Benson. The hotel is just a short walk from York's historic city walls and many other popular tourist attractions, including York Minster, the Theatre Royal, The Yorkshire Museum and Gardens, the Art Gallery as well as shopping and transport facilities.

New owners, Mr and Mrs Gravers of Gravers Care Home Ltd have bought the property with the intent of converting it into their second care home within the York region.

Mr and Mrs Benson comment, “We were contacted directly by Matt from Christie & Co to see whether we might be interested in selling. As it happened, we already had the property on the market with another agent but had had little interest. What struck us most and persuaded us to change agents was the professionalism and thoroughness of Matt and Christie & Co. Sales material was efficiently and attractively prepared and we quite quickly found a buyer. Matt assisted in getting the best price for us, offering a personal service all the way and unlike many agencies, we were never handed over to a person we had never met in an office. Christie & Co are highly experienced in commercial sales with national coverage and we highly recommend them.”

Simon Burbridge, Business Agent for Hospitality at Christie & Co comments, “2019 was an extremely successful year for the sale of guesthouses across North Yorkshire and it doesn’t look like that will slow down in 2002. Feversham Lodge provides further evidence of the importance of choosing the right agent who specialise in the sector.

"I would like to thank Jane and Peter for putting their trust in me to find a buyer and I wish them the very best in the future.”
