Specialist care home in Shepshed acquired by expanding group operator
Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co has completed on the sale of Briarvale Care Home, a specialist residential care home in the Leicestershire town of Shepshed near Loughborough, to an expanding group operator.
Occupying a converted residential property, Briarvale operates as a ‘home for life’ for up to ten residents, ranging from 18 to 65 years of age. Specialising in the care of patients with learning disabilities and Autism, the home also maintains an excellent reputation for the care of service users with Down’s Syndrome and dementia, a niche area of care within the sector.
The home was established as a residential care home 18 years ago and has since enjoyed an excellent reputation throughout the area. The owners of Nirvana Care Homes decided to sell the home and retire from the care sector.
Prashant Soni of Nirvana Care Homes comments, “Tamara Gee was very fast and pro-active in getting the home back on the market after the first sale fell through. Within weeks, we had a full asking price offer, which we accepted. We completed the sale in early July and handed over the home within four months, which was an amazing result. Throughout the whole time, Tamara was dealing with both sides making sure we all stuck to our deadlines and all solicitors are moving forward at a good pace. I was kept fully up to date by Tamara and really did not feel the need to call, as I felt confident she was moving things forward.”
Tamara Gee, Senior Business Agent at Christie & Co, handled the sale and comments, "After a previous sale fell through, we were able to agree another sale within a couple of weeks of Briarvale coming back on the market, clearly demonstrating the strong demand from buyers for this type of business."
The business was sold off an asking price of £580,000.
