Substantial hotel & restaurant next to Heathrow airport sold
The Stanwell Heathrow Hotel and Restaurant, in the village of Stanwell on the south side of Heathrow airport, has been sold through specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co to Splendid Hospitality Group.
Comprising the main house, a modern extension, and a stable block, the hotel provides 53 en suite guest bedrooms arranged across the three buildings. Alongside the accommodation, The Stanwell offers a range of facilities including two function rooms, a restaurant, bar and lounge, fitness suite, and a garden room which opens out onto an attractive trade terrace and garden.
Due to its proximity to Heathrow Airport and road links, the hotel is extremely popular with both leisure and corporate guests. The venue is also well suited to host a variety of events with its extensive trading areas across the ground floor restaurant, bar and lounge, and garden room which can host up to 150 people altogether.
Having been purchased by Splendid Hospitality Group, marking the operator’s 20th UK hotel, they are looking to rebrand the hotel. Stuart Bailey, Chief Executive of Splendid Hospitality Group, comments, “This acquisition further cements our foothold at Heathrow airport and surrounding business parks.
“The hotel will continue to develop its strong links with the local community and will continue to operate independently as The Stanwell Hotel until we agree the appropriate brand option for the next phase of the hotel’s transition.”
Andrew Evangelou, Director at Christie & Co, handled the sale and comments, “The successful sale of The Stanwell Heathrow Hotel & Restaurant reinforces how Greater London remains an attractive investment for privately owned, domestic hotel groups, looking to expand their portfolios here in the UK.”
