The Great House in Lavenham sold through Christie & Co

​The Great House Restaurant & Hotel, one of the most respected and renown restaurant businesses in East Anglia has been sold through specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co.

The Great House is situated in the historic medieval town of Lavenham in the heart of the Suffolk countryside and one of the finest eating and hotel destinations in the region. Lavenham is also well known for its picturesque and historic half-timber framed medieval properties with some 300 listed buildings still in existence.



The Great House itself is a wonderful 14th century fully refurbished Grade ll* listed property. Its restaurant offers some 55 covers internally and a further 20 outside. It also boasts accommodation from five exceptional and spacious letting rooms which overlook the beautifully preserved Market Square in the town.

Owned by Regis and Martine Crepy since the 1980s, the restaurant and hotel have won numerous awards and accolades over the years; it has been included in The Sunday Times’ Top 100 Restaurants since 2011, scored a perfect ‘5’ in the 2017 Good Food Guide, has an exceptional rating ‘5-5-4’ from Hardens and has the AA 2017 Inspector’s Choice & Gold Awards.
