Thelbridge Cross Inn brought to the market through Christie & Co

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co has brought to the market Thelbridge Cross Inn, an 18th century coaching inn situated in the Devon hamlet of Thelbridge.

The 18th century coaching inn has benefitted from a number of extensions and comprises a restaurant with 38 covers, the Dukes function suite, which can cater for up to 200 covers, and eight en suite bedrooms, one of which is a large bridal suite. On the first floor, spacious four bedroom owner’s accommodation is provided. Externally, the property benefits from a beer garden, which can accommodate for approximately 30 covers, as well as a large car park for 65 vehicles.

Surrounded by farmland and open countryside, Thelbridge is well connected to nearby villages and towns, including Witheridge, Crediton and Tiverton. Benefitting from loyal local trade and maintaining an excellent reputation throughout Devon for its impressive menu and quality offering, the inn presents opportunities for further growth, such as creating a new menu, using fresh produce from the site’s vegetable garden, or introducing a caravan site.

Lloyd Colin, Business Agent at Christie & Co is handling the sale and comments, “Thelbridge Cross Inn is ideally suited for a first time buyer or an owner operator, having been previously owned by the same family for three decades before the current owners purchased the business in 2017.

“We continue to see strong interest across the licensed sector, with both experienced operators and first time buyers actively seeking to acquire a lifestyle business in the South West region.”

Christie & Co is seeking offers in excess of £450,000 for the freehold interest of Thelbridge Cross Inn.
