Two Manchester retail businesses for sale through Christie & Co
Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co has been instructed to sell two retail businesses on the busy Bolton Road in Swinton, Greater Manchester, Newtown Post Office and a Mace branded convenience store.
The Mace convenience store currently trades between 7am and 8.30pm, seven days a week, and is heavily relied upon within the local residential area. The 500 sq ft trading area is well presented and stocks a full range of food and convenience items, as well as offering National Lottery and Paypoint services.
Set in a strong trading position, Newtown Post Office is open Monday to Saturday, between 8am and 6pm, and provides a full range of post office services to the community, generating healthy annual commissions.
This is bolstered by additional turnover from the retail element of the business, providing a range of goods including confectionary, tobacco and alcohol.
Both settings have been run by local business owner Pankaj Patel for over 20 years, who has now taken the decision to move on in order to retire.
Ashley Cobban, Business Agent – Retail at Christie & Co, who is handling the sale comments, “Taken together, these businesses offer potential buyers the rare opportunity to purchase multiple retail sites along a busy, main thoroughfare. As the current opening hours of both businesses are relatively limited, a new operator would have the scope to increase trade by extending them. When you consider the fact that both sites are available with new leases on negotiable terms and with competitive annual rents, this is undoubtedly an attractive proposition.”
Christie & Co is seeking £59,950 with an annual rent of £10,000 for a new negotiable lease on the Mace Convenience Store, and £49,950 with an annual rent of £10,000 for a new negotiable lease on the Newtown Post Office.
