Vacant pub in East Yorkshire on one point two acre-site for sale

The Ferryboat Inn was once a much-visited pub which served both the local community and wider population in its heyday.  The riverside site is ideally located on the banks of the River Ouse, with road access via Boothferry Road and the nearby M62 motorway, which provides access to the wider motorway network.

It sits on a circa 1.2-acre site, making it ideal for re-development, subject to obtaining the necessary planning consent. Alternatively, and with further investment, it could be re-opened as a destination pub-restaurant and possible wedding venue.

Internally, two main trading areas provide space for approximately 150 customers. The bar area could provide seating for some 55 customers and a dining room to the rear has space for 100 customers.  On the first floor is six-bedroom owner’s accommodation.

The current owner comments; “This is an outstanding opportunity for someone to develop it as a food outlet and create a destination to attract people due to its great location and plentiful parking.”

Matthew Hendry, Business Agent at Christie & Co is handling the sale and comments, “Usually a vacant pub in need of some TLC would deter many buyers, however The Ferryboat Inn could just be a diamond in the rough.  Set on circa one point two-acres of riverside and roadside land, the potential for the site is vast.  I can see multi-pub operators being interested, as well as retail developers who would look to take advantage of the prominent roadside position close to the M62.

The Ferryboat Inn is on the market at a freehold asking price of £325,000
