Vacant takeaway unit in Eastwood to be given a new lease of life

Having stood vacant for a number of years, the previous owners approached Christie & Co at the start of 2020, seeking to re-let the property. Prior to becoming vacant, the unit was a successful takeaway business with accommodation above and parking to the front and side.

The new lease has been secured by Wasseem Ahktar, who plans to reopen the store within a few weeks, following a complete refurbishment of the premises. The new store will offer the local community a variety of takeaway options with a firm focus on deliveries, in order to align with the market shift in recent months in favour of food delivery rather than collection.

Wasseem comments, “I am really pleased to get this deal over the line with the help of Dave at Christie & Co. It’s going to be a busy few weeks getting the unit ready, but we are confident that we can open soon and start to serve the wider community.”
