Victorian B&B in historic Somerset village sold through Christie & Co
Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co is delighted to announce the sale of Watermead Guest House in Chard, Somerset.
Situated in a secluded spot just a short walk from Chard’s High Street, Watermead Guest House has an excellent reputation among tourists, as a great base to explore the historic town, as well as the nearby Jurassic Coast and the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The stunning Victorian villa features nine bedrooms, a guest lounge with original open fireplaces and a dining room conservatory overlooking the gardens.
Watermead Guest House has been owned and run by David and Trudy Cole since 1997 and came up for sale once they decided it was time to retire.
The business has been purchased by new owners, Gary Birch and Jamie Tillotson. They comment, “We are excited to continue the long tradition of great customer service at Watermead House with exciting plans for redevelopment to further enhance its existing reputation – 2024 will be an exciting year for us.”
Stephen Champion, Director at Christie & Co who handled the sale, comments, “Watermead proved to be an excellent family home and business to David and Trudy, and we have no doubt it will continue to do the same for new owners Gary and Jamie. We wish them every success with their new business venture.”
