The nursery, which has an operational capacity of 78, has been operated by Christie & Co’s clients, Julie Starkie and Janet Hewson, since 1992 and they decided to place the nursery on the market so they could pursue other interests.  The nursery provides childcare for children from birth up to 5 years of age in a variety of age-appropriate rooms and also has external soft play areas.

The nursery has been sold to Little People Nurseries and Director Vicky Hallas Fawcett comments; “We’re very excited to acquire Little Tykes Nursery and welcome it to the Little People family. This will be our fifth acquisition and we’re looking forward to be introducing a new leadership team to work alongside the existing staff.”
Little People Nurseries was established in 1989, and with the acquisition of Little Tykes, now operates nine nursery settings across the West Yorkshire area.

The sale was handled by Jonathan Wickens, Director at Christie & Co’s Leeds office, who comments; “The sale of Little Tykes illustrates the demand for nurseries across the Yorkshire region.  We expect to complete a further sale in the next two weeks and have a number of parties looking to acquire established settings in the major town and cities across the region.”
