Willow Brooke Day Nurseries Limited is made up of Willow Brooke Day Nursery George Eliot, which opened in 2004, and Willow Brooke Day Nursery Attleborough, which opened in 2015. Together, they care for up to 184 children aged between zero and five-years, and are committed to promoting inclusively, notably achieving the Warwickshire Inclusion Kitemarking Scheme Award in March 2018.
The business was founded by Joanne Maltby, who recently decided to sell in order to retire from the sector, and following a confidential sales process with Christie & Co, has been purchased by Kids Planet Day Nurseries which now owns over 140 settings across the UK.
Joanne Maltby, former owner of Willow Brooke Day Nurseries Limited, comments, “Willow Brooke has been my life for so many years and deciding to sell was a tough decision. For me, it was extremely important that the two settings went to someone that would carry on the same ethos and values that I have embedded into my team. From the moment I met Kids Planet, I knew they were the perfect fit, and this has only been reinforced by their approach and support throughout the whole acquisition process.”
Clare Roberts, CEO at Kids Planet Day Nurseries, comments, “We are pleased to have acquired the two Nuneaton settings, which take Kids Planet to a group of 149 nurseries! The Willow Brooke Day Nurseries’ values and ethos align with Kids Planet’s own, and they are committed to ensuring that all children are treated inclusively, in safe and secure environments. I am excited to welcome them into our Kids Planet family.”
Jassi Sunner, Associate Director – Childcare & Education at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, comments, “Willow Brooke Day Nurseries Limited is a prominent childcare provider in Nuneaton due to the proximity to George Eliot Hospital as well as the large industrial estate, home to a number of employers. The George Eliot site, in particular, is a key asset to the hospital workforce and is always busy with a waiting list. As a result, the nurseries registered 13 enquiries in just a couple of hours, and we were quickly able to arrange a set of viewings from this. Offers came forward quickly and our client was keen to progress with Kids Planet based on their reputation and speed to the transaction. We wish Jo all the best with her exit from the sector and hope she can spend more time with family as a result. We are also pleased to continue our relationship with Kids Planet and hope to announce some additional sales soon.”
Willow Brooke Day Nurseries Limited was sold for an undisclosed price.
Legal advice for the seller was provided by Paul Krivosic from Mills & Reeve.
